一、老头的的老婆吉儿，被小偷偷东西的时候把他的孩撞掉了，叫小偷去偷东西的就是竖锯后来的那个女徒弟阿曼达，然后他又查出来他有绝症，他又去找那个做医保的，但是别人不给赔偿，他觉得很多人有罪，但又得不到惩罚，很多人不珍惜生命，他决定用他自己的办法来惩罚他们，让他们明白生命的重要，这里要提一下的是，竖锯和霍夫曼完全是不一样的，竖锯是给人活路，虽然你要舍弃一些东西，但能活命，主要是让他们明白生命的重要，不是为了杀他们，而霍却是真正的杀人，他们两个是不一样的，这在5里面的回忆里面有。

二、因为在4竖锯死的时候他知道了很多事情，1，阿曼达在第三还是第二集里面，杀了一个女检查官，那是一个必死的机关，这不是竖锯的意思，是霍利用了她，竖锯其实知道这件事，知道霍和他不是一路人。2、在第三集结尾的时候，竖锯喊阿曼达带了一个治病很棒的女医生为他治病，给那女医生安了机关，但是后来霍利用阿曼达杀了那个女医生，竖锯也就活不成了（当然那个女医生不死，他也不一定能，只是可能多活些时候吧），霍以为他不知道，其实一切竖锯早就知道了，上面这一点要在6回忆里面才看得见，所以竖锯早就安排了一切，6个文件5个是给霍的，最后一个是给他老婆吉儿的。

3、这一点我大概讲一下，主要是讲，老头得了绝症，死了孩子，又得不到赔偿，心里起了变化，想用自己的方式来提醒一些人，然后霍的妹妹死人杀死了，他冒用竖锯之名，做了那个掉钟的机关，杀了那个人，被竖锯知道然后抓了，然后霍帮竖一起做事，然后霍利用阿曼达间接杀了竖锯，但这一切竖锯早就知道了，所以他也给他老婆安排好了，等霍把该做的做好，就结束他的生命。
